Faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Hebrews 1:1.

Faith is the foundation of Christianity and essential for salvation. Faith unites believers to Christ. We walk by faith and we live by faith. When we can’t trace God, we trust Him…who is the author and finisher of our faith.

God is Faithful and His word is immutable.

You can trust in him as he keeps his promises.  He is steadfast in character and true to His word.  His unchanging nature is such that He cannot and will not go against His Word.  God is not a law breaker.  If He said it, He will perform His word concerning it.

Trusting in God means that we go beyond what we can see and believe.

If we can believe it, then it eventually becomes visible. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23

  • Abraham is often called the “father of faith.” He demonstrated immense trust and obedience by his willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac. Hebrews 11:8-19
  • Noah obeyed God’s command and in a time when there was no rain, he built an ark to save his family and the animals God prepared from a great flood. Genesis 6-9
  • David worked as a shepherd, yet he possessed a heart brimming with faith when he defeated the lion and the bear that threatened his flock. He also confronted a ten-foot giant named Goliath, holding onto the same conviction that the God who gave him strength to slay the lion and bear would safeguard him against this formidable foe. 1 Samuel 17
